​​​​Flat Plate Gate Valves​: For demanding sealing in the chemical, petrochemical and iron & steel industries

The RHEFLA® flat plate gate valve is designed on the basis of the line blind principle. A plane-parallel gate plate slides between two preloaded sealing rings and, in the open position, guarantees no obstruction in the pipeline with no resistance to the flow of the medium. The RHEFLA® valve is used particularly for demanding sealing tasks and difficult media in the chemical, petrochemical and iron & steel industries.​

    • Single body design (fixed sockets) with wedge and pressure screw for the adjustment of the sealing pre-loading.

    • Self-tightening BREDTSCHNEIDER bonnet sealing for pressure ranges exceeding PN40 (causing a bonnet sealing force that increases. proportionally to the internal pressure)

    • Same sealing systems and design features as standard RHEFLA-types.​


  • No pressure loss on full bore type / low pressure loss on reduced bore type

  • Exchangeable sealing rings guarantee a low maintenance requirement

RHEFLA II specific

  • Wedge and pressure screw for the adjustment of the sealing pre-loading

  • In VC plants the RHEFLA® valve guarantees a durable tightness at closure and to the outside. When facing corrosive media, the conduit can be equipped with wear protections made of high-alloyed materials

for use in higher pressure ranges 

RHEFLA® Control Double Gate Valves ​​

A special RHEFLA® variant is the Control Double Gate Valve for high differential pressures. These are two RHEFLA® valves in tandem order connected by a gas venting intermediate piece. Only one of the valves (second in order) shuts the pipe off against the full differential pressure. The other valve (first in order) is relieved and closes at equilibrate pressure. Then the intermediate air space can be vented by a solenoid valve via the bypass pipe. In this way, a 100% tight and man-safe shut-off is assured.​

Shut-off valves in oxygen service

The design adaption of the RHEFLA®-gate valve to the requirements of the oxygen service made it a safety valve, which has proven itself worldwide over decades in steel works, gas transformer stations and in safety areas. A wide range of RHEFLA® and RHEFLA® flat plate gate valves in various designs, pressure ratings and diameters is used for shut-off functions in oxygen service. All parts in touch with the medium are made of special brass which reduces the the risk of sparking

  • All packings and sealings can be delivered with BAM-certificate (material for oxygen service approved by the German Federal Authority for Material Research and Development)

  • Steel sheets and steel parts are galvanized

  • Gate plate and body are connected by an earthing wire to prevent any discharge of static tribo-electricity​

Installation & service

RHEFLA®-valves are used predominantly in demanding plants and applications and must operate safely and reliably for many years. During scheduled shut downs it is important to have a professional overhaul of the valves. For such maintenance our experienced service team will be at your disposal. All work steps including the final tests will be executed and documented in accordance to our high quality standard.
