Since 1962 we have been specialist designers, manufacturers and suppliers of high integrity valves, actuators and pressure-reducing stations for critical seawater, nuclear and naval marine applications.
In the marine environment equipment must be of the utmost reliability because repair is often impossible and failure would be catastrophic. Nowhere is this more true than for nuclear submarine hull valves which must withstand the corrosive seawater environment and perform with minimal maintenance for years at a time; reliability must be assured by design. Any failure could lead to the loss of a vessel in minutes with the loss of many lives.
In addition, submarine specifications demand that hull valves can withstand the extreme shock levels that might be experienced in a combat situation and still maintain integrity.
IMI Truflo Marine's pioneering work on HMS Dreadnought, the UK's first nuclear submarine, was the beginning of a series of innovations for Britain's Royal Navy and many other navies around the world. The list now includes the state-of-the-art Astute Class, described as "more complex than the Space Shuttle", as well as Vanguard and Trafalgar Class submarines. Today, IMI Truflo Marine proudly leads the world in the design, manufacture and supply of submarine and ship valves. In fact, 120,000 of our valves are currently in service with 24 navies worldwide.
Our valves are meticulously designed and manufactured. They are fully validated, including physical underwater explosion (UNDEX) testing to very high shock levels.
